White Cheddar and Red Skinned Savory Potato Au Gratin

Scrub and thin slice 1 3/4 lb. potaotes.
Cook about 10 min. in water, then drain and toss in:

1 cup heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
2 cups shredded cheddar
1 T. thyme
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
(slices or chunks of ham if desired)

Place in buttered 11 by 7 in.. casserole dish

Bake covered at 325 for 1 hr.
Remove cover and bake for another half hour.

Allow to sit and let custard set before serving.
